A Delegation of the Committee on Economy of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, headed by the Chairperson of the Committee Ms. Vladanka Avirović and composed of Mr. Mališa Stanković - Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Mr. Rexhail Ismaili and Mr. Dragan Cuklev, participated at the parliamentary seminar on the topic: "The EU energy policy and its impact on the pre-accession countries”, that was held on 21 and 22 February 2013 in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.

With regard to the parliamentary cooperation on global level, we expressed mutual satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the Assembly and the United Nations, i.e. the Inter-Parliamentary Union. We also exchanged views on the development of the capacities of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia as an institution that has to continually invest in its capacity, in order to be able to meet the challenges.

PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WELCOMED THE NEWLY-APPOINTED HEAD OF THE LIAISON OFFICE OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA - MR. THEOCHARIS LALAKOS
At the beginning of the meeting the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia expressed satisfaction from the meeting and wished Mr. Lalakos successful work during his mandate as Head of Mission. Mr. Trajko Veljanoski regretted the lack of cooperation between the two countries on parliamentary level and expressed hope that direct parliamentary cooperation will be established soon.
