MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AND THE MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT SUBCOMMITTEE ON HUMAN RIGHTS, MR. RICHARD HOWITT

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, welcomed Mr. Howitt and expressed appreciation for the support provided to the Republic of Macedonia in its Euro integrative process, and underlined that the reports drafted by Mr. Howitt are objective, principle, integral and benefit the faster integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the European Union

AT THE END OF HIS VISIT TO THE UNITED STATES PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI MET SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN

President Veljanoski expressed appreciation for the consistent support the US has been giving to the Republic of Macedonia in all areas, especially concerning our NATO membership. Regarding the name dispute, he reaffirmed Macedonia's sincere approach and commitment to finding a mutually acceptable and sustainable solution to the matter

PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AND THE PARLIAMENTARIANS SPASENOVKI AND GJORČEV MET THE LEADERSHIP OF THE UNITED MACEDONIAN DIASPORA AND THE NATIONAL ALBANIAN AMERICAN COUNCIL

They also reiterated their idea for establishing a Ministry for the diaspora, and informed about their good cooperation with the parliamentarians representing the Macedonian diaspora. The problems of the diaspora were also discussed, as well as the possibilities for additional efforts for better realization of the activities and for resolving the problems from the institutions of the Republic of Macedonia and the UMD leadership

PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI MET CONGRESSMAN ROBERT ADERHOLT AND ADDRESSED THE LEADERS LUNCHEON IN WASHINGTON

President Veljanoski reiterated the attitude of the Republic of Macedonia that the criteria for integration of the country in these structures should be the same as for the other countries. After the meeting they both went to the leaders lunch that is part of the activities associated with the National Prayer Breakfast, organised by the U.S. President Barack Obama

Meetings of the President Veljanoski in Washington

During the first day of stay in Washington, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had several meetings with Congressmen, Senators and heads of foundations and international organizations.

IN NEW YORK PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI MET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY MR. VUK JEREMIĆ

During the cordial meeting they discussed various issues, focusing on the promotion of the regional cooperation and the building of good-neighbourly relations. President Veljanoski pointed out the special interest and continued contribution of the Republic of Macedonia in the building of peace and stability in the region. In this context, he emphasized the commitments of the country in the framework of our Chairmanship-in-Office of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), aimed at raising the level of the regional cooperation, especially regarding the parliamentary relations and association.

PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WELCOMED THE NEWLY-APPOINTED HEAD OF THE LIAISON OFFICE OF THE HELLENIC REPUBLIC TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA - MR. THEOCHARIS LALAKOS

At the beginning of the meeting the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia expressed satisfaction from the meeting and wished Mr. Lalakos successful work during his mandate as Head of Mission. Mr. Trajko Veljanoski regretted the lack of cooperation between the two countries on parliamentary level and expressed hope that direct parliamentary cooperation will be established soon.
