ISRAEL PERMANENTLY SUPPORTS THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA
The Parliamentary Group from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the State of Israel had a Meeting with the International Working Group for Cooperation in Education, Remembrance and Research of the Holocaust.
The Chair of the Parliamentary Group from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the State of Israel, Mr. Pavle Trajanov, as well as the Members of the Group, Ms. Slavica Grkovska, Mr. Vlado Stefanovski and Ms. Liljana Popvoska attended the meeting.
The Delegation from the International Working Group for Cooperation in Education, Remembrance and Research of the Holocaust was comprised of Mr. Mark Vajtzman, Mr. Steven Smith and Ms. Naima Shic, as well as the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. David Koen and Mr. Viktor Mizrahi, President of the Jewish Community in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Chairman Trajanov expressed his pleasure for the meeting and underlined that “the State of Israel is a friendly country of the Republic of Macedonia and constantly supports us in the international relations.“
In the same time he welcomed and supported the activities of the International Working Group for Cooperation in Education, Remembrance and Research of the Holocaust, reminding that the Republic of Macedonia is dedicated and continuously works on the issues connected with the status of the Jews in our country. Also, the Republic of Macedonia officially requested status of observer in the Working Group, which will provide exchange of experiences from the more advanced states in this area and in the same time the Republic of Macedonia will contribute in the achievement of the goals of the aim.
The participants expressed pleasure from the continuous and intense progress of the relations and cooperation between these two states and agreed that the biggest investment of a society is the investment in international understanding, tolerance and mutual respect.
The decision of the Republic of Macedonia for joining this Group and building guarantee for understanding between the future generations is a message with can be spread wider that the Balkan.
