MEETING OF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. RAFIS ALITI AND H.E. SAMUEL WALIS- AKIANI, AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA
The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia , Mr. Rafis Aliti had a meeting with H.E. Samuel Walis- Akiani- Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Macedonia.
The Vice President, on behalf of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski who is officially visiting Montenegro, congratulated the appointment to the Newly Appointed, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Republic of Macedonia, located in Belgrade.
The Vice President Aliti underlined that the Republic of Macedonia, beside the strategic determination and priorities for EU and NATO, is strongly interested to intensify and promote the cooperation with the states from Africa in all areas of mutual interest.
The Republic of Macedonia addresses the development of the overall relations with the states of Africa, and in this sense, the geographic distance should not be an obstacle, on the contrary, it should be a challenge for development of the overall and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and Ghana. The most suitable forms of bilateral cooperation must be found in all areas of mutual interest, the possible economic cooperation, trade and usage of the potentials of the two states should be reviewed and considered.
Also, it was underlined that there is a need for more dynamic cooperation in the area of economy, as well as business contacts between the businessmen of the two states; that there are realistic opportunities for cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of the two states. Ghana has rich resource potential and the Republic of Macedonia is an opportunity for Ghana to promote itself on the European market.
Mr. Aliti also informed his guest on the composition and the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
The Ambassador Samuel Walis Akiani, stated that the parliamentary cooperation should be established and the economic relations should be promoted.
