MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND H.E. FELIX CORONA
The President of the Assebmly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, met today with the newly appointed ambassador of Mexico to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Carlos Isauro Felix Corona. He expressed satisfaction with the meeting, highlighted the successful cooperation with the former ambassadors of Mexico to the country and wished Mr. Corona successful work during his term. 
He noted the friendly relations between the two countries, without open issues and expressed hope that the desired dynamics of meetings at the parliamentary level will gain momentum in the future.
President Xhaferi spoke about the current status of the country which became a full member of NATO in pandemic conditions, an act that completed one of the strategic goals of the country. In regard with the second strategic goal, the European integration, he informed the interlocutor about the crietira met by our side, as was confirmed in the latest report of the European Commission, and expressed hope that the current obstacle on that path will be removed and that the country will finally start negotiations for membership in the European Union.
Ambassador Felix Corona also agreed with President Xhaferi's statement on the good relations between the two countries and expressed his strong will to work devotedly on overcoming the deficit of bilateral meetings at all parliamentary levels. He stressed that the new Chamber of Deputies of Mexico will propose the establishment of a Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Republic of North Macedonia and pointed to the huge potential of economic cooperation between the two countries in the future.
Regarding the European integration process, the Ambassador expressed the clear and unequivocal support that Mexico gives to the Republic of North Macedonia at all international assemblies and organizations such as IPU, UN, in which Mexico is an important member and plays an important role.
Both interlocutors agreed that the good cooperation established with the Mexican Embassy will continue in order to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in areas of mutual interest for both countries.
