MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND H.E. TYCIŃSKI

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, H.E. Wojciech Tyciński. He wished him warm welcome at the very beginning and thanked him for the continuous support our country receives from the Republic of Poland in our Euro-Atlantic and European process.

Ambassador Tyciński expressed interest in the current affairs in the Legislature, wherefore President Xhaferi briefed him on how the Assembly dealt with the challenges posed by the pandemic in the past period and that the vaccination process is almost completed.

Furthermore, on the current parliamentary activities, among other things, on the internal consultations of the Working Group in charge of the Jean Monnet Dialogue, that is, the representatives of the parliamentary groups and the political parties represented in the Assembly. The interlocutors shared common experiences of the two parliaments on these topics.

Ambassador Tyciński stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia is a very important partner of the Republic of Poland and that they will continue to support our country in the process of acquiring EU membership. He also highlighted the importance of productive cooperation between the two legislatures and that it should be strengthened at the level of cooperation between the services. That is something that can be achieved in the future, by sharing experiences and following things closely from both sides.

President Xhaferi gladly accepted this proposal of the Ambassador and reiterated that the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia is always open for democratic cooperation with all Parliaments in the world.

The two interlocutors agreed, depending on the COVID protocols, to organize an exhibition in the premises of the Assembly in the near future, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Visegrad Group. The commitment to deepen mutual cooperation between the two states in many other areas, such as science, education, defense, health, culture, remains a mutual interest for the future.
