PARTICIPATION OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI IN THE WORKING SESSION OF THE AMBASSADORIAL COUNCIL
At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Nikola Dimitrov, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi participated in a working session today with the heads of diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In a constructive setting, President Xhaferi briefed on the ongoing international activities of the Assembly, with a view to the activities of the permanent delegations in the multilateral organizations, bilateral co-operation, EU-integration activities and the completion of the NATO integration process. Therefore, he emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the importance of a coordinated approach between the relevant institutions in the design and implementation of the country's foreign policy. He gave special emphasis to his international agenda as an important segment in the overall diplomatic activities, with emphasis on the more significant past visits, as well as the upcoming visits to the country and abroad.
At the working session, constructive discussions were exchanged with the ambassadors, in particular on upcoming visits at bilateral level, activities related to the remaining ratifications of the Accession Protocol of the Republic of North Macedonia to NATO, as well as other activities related to getting a date for the EU accession negotiations.
The importance of coordination and coherent positions in foreign policy was highlighted and the need for further mutual support between the Assembly and the Ministry was emphasized in order to successfully achieve the goals set out in the foreign policy.
