ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AT “THE ROLE OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES IN THE ELECTION PROCESS” - CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE OSCE MISSION TO THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

None of the modern democracies can give up on functioning of the political parties. This democratic anchor has been present aside from the diverse tendency against the political situation, the political quarrels and the party- political activities. The person with the desire to be positioned above the parties and say that he/she is lead by only by the state-political needs, is denying oneself and others. These persons often present their views as a pure professionalism in the same time attempting to discredit others’ opinions as a “party policy” or “ideological”.

Mr. Ilija Kitanovski, Chairman of the Committee on the Political System and Relations among the Communities, today met with the Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Rapporteur for post-monitoring dialogue with the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Robert Walter, and with Ms. Sylvie Affholder, Secretary of the Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe (Monitoring Committee). Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska, Ms. Silvana Boneva, Mr. Aleksandar Nikoloski, Mr. Erdogan Sarac, Mr. Zijadin Sela, Mr. Dragisa Miletic, Mr. Trajco Dimkov, Mr. Antonijo Milososki, Ms. Vesna Bendevska, Mr. Mevmet Dzemajlovski, and Ms. Nadica Tanceva-Tulieva were also present at the meeting.
