At the meeting with the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, consisted of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski and the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jani Makraduli Congressman David Price said that the cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia is one of the better they have had. He added that he was pleased with the continuous support for the Euro-Atlantic Integration of the Republic of Macedonia from the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and from all the political parties. “This was the case in 2006, when I visited Macedonia for the first time, this was the case during my last visit in 2008, and this is the case now”.

At the meeting of the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, consisted of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, and the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jani Makraduli with Senator George Voinovich, the Senator welcomed the progress of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as its commitment on the path towards Euro-Atlantic Integrations

Meetings of the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia with the President of NDI, Members of the Congress, representatives from the Macedonian Diaspora, as well as with Representative from the State Department responsible for Macedonia

At the meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Veljanoski and the Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Makraduli, the President of NDI Mr. Kenneth Wollack said that the success of the Macedonian Assembly during the past period resulted in Macedonia being a model for parliamentary development. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation, and emphasized their will for continuing the cooperation.

Meeting of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Ms. Jadranka Kosor

At the meeting, which both sides assessed as continuation of the highly developed friendly relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski underlined that the two countries have a common strategic goal - EU Integration. “I am pleased that the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia reached an agreement about the opened issues, which enables Croatia to continue the accession negotiations with the EU. At the same time, I hope that, after receiving the recommendation for opening the accession negotiations from the European Commission, the Republic of Macedonia will soon start the negotiations. In the past twenty years, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the only certain thing is that there is no turning that back, and Euro-Integration is an inevitable process”, said the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, sent a letter to the EU member states appealing for support from his colleagues for adoption of a decision by the European Council in December on the date for opening the accession negotiations In his letter the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia wrote: „In the framework of the process of European integration, I avail myself of this opportunity, in light of the forthcoming European Council in December 2009, to ask for your support concerning an issue of crucial importance for my country - opening of accession negotiations with the European Union
