Participation on the 8th Meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee- the Republic of Macedonia –European Union
Pursuant to Article 114 of the Agreement on Stabilization and Association of the Republic of Macedonia and the European Union, and in accordance with the Rule No. 6 from the Rules of procedure of the Joint Parliamentary Committee- the Republic of Macedonia – European Union, the 8th Meeting of the Committee shall be held on 29 and 30 November 2010 in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
The Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia headed by Mr. Alaksandar Spasenovski and comprised of Mr. Rafis Aliti Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia; Ms. Slavica Grkovska, Vice Chair of the Committee; Ms. Sonja Mirakovska, Member of the Delegation and Mr. Vladimir Gjorchev will participate in the Meeting.
Many issues regarding the recent developments of the civil society, the freedom of expression and political dialogue, functioning of the public administration, judiciary, prison system and the attempts for fight against fraud and corruption; transport corridors in the Western Balkan and the European Union, management of EU funds, economic and financial situation and the reforms taken by the Government in direction of accession in the European Union will be reviewed during the Meeting.
MEPs of the Delegation from the European Parliament to the Committee will attend the Meeting. Mr. Vasko Naumovski, Vice Prime Minister on European Issues; Mr Erwan Fouéré , Head of the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Macedonia and EU Special Representative to the Republic of Macedonia as well as Mr. Christian Hedberg, Director of the Enlargement Department will address before the participants.
In the end of the meeting Common Recommendations are expected to be reviewed and adopted.
