ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON "DEMOCRACY AND THE ASSEMBLY" FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

On  September 23rd, 2016, the Unit of Education and Communication of the Parliamentary Institute organized one-day educational seminar on "Democracy and the Assembly" in the Educational Centre of the Parliamentary Institute. The seminar involved students of secondary schools from Veles, Shtip, Kumanovo, Strumica and Skopje.

The purpose of the seminar was to bring the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia closer to the younger population.

Students reaffirmed and expanded their knowledge of democracy, parliamentary democracy and its historic development in Macedonia, the principle of separation of powers, the place and role of the Assembly in the political system of the Republic, election of representatives of the people, procedure for the adoption of laws at the Assembly through theoretical lectures, video projections and games.

The students and teachers were awarded a certificate of participation by the Head of the Parliamentary Institute, Zlatko Atanasov. 

Furthermore, these students had special opportunity to see the Assembly up close by taking an organized tour of its most prominent halls.
