ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON: PARLIAMENT (ASSEMBLY) AS KEY INSTITUTION OF PARLIAMENTARY LAW

On 19 March 2018 an education seminar was held at the Education Centre of the Parliamentary Institute which was attended by 28 students enrolled in legal and political studies at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” at UKIM in Skopje. During the one-day seminar, students were introduced to the procedures of parliamentary life and the activities of MPs at the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The seminar covered some of the topics being studied as part of parliamentary law such as: the composition, structure and internal organisation of the Assembly; the legal position and role of the MPs; basic competencies of the Assembly with special emphasis on the law adoption procedure; parliamentary democracy and its historic development in Macedonia. 

At the end, students had the opportunity to go on an organised tour and see the official part of the Assembly building, as an important landmark of Macedonian statehood.
