ONE-DAY SEMINAR ON THE TOPIC OF DEMOCRACY AND THE ASSEMBLY ATTENDED FOR PUPILS FROM PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Pupils from five primary schools from Makedonski Brod, Demir Kapija, Probistip, Novi Dojran and Skopje, accompanied by their teachers, participated in a one-day educational seminar entitle "Democracy and the Assembly".
The seminar was held on April 21, at the Educational Center of the Parliamentary Institute.
The purpose of the seminars is to bring closer the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the young population, which will contribute to the development of their awareness of the benefits of democracy.
Through theoretical lectures, video projections and games, the pupils affirmed and expanded their knowledge of democracy, parliamentary democracy and its historical development in Macedonia, the principle of separation of power, the role of the Assembly in the political system of the Republic, the election of MPs, the procedure of passing laws in the Assembly, etc.
The students and teachers were given a certificate for participation in the seminar.
The pupils also had an extraordinary opportunity to take part in an organized tour of the Assembly and see its most representative premises.
