Address of the President Xhaferi on the Occasion of the International Day of Democracy  

The thoughts for democracy as form of governance and form of state order can be found in the ancient times of Aristotle, Socrates and Plato. Essentially, since ancient times, democracy and everything in the context thereof, was a subject of theoretical debates of political definitions. Since today, majority of us here, are people from the politics, I shall quote one of those political definitions “Democracy is the worst form of governance, except for all the others”.

In the eve of marking the Independence Day, the 8th of September, at the very beginning I want to express my gratitude and I believe that gratitude is shared by the overall public in the Republic of Macedonia,  to the deputies of the first parliamentary composition of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

Address of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi at the Constitutive Meeting of the Interparty parliamentary group for the Rights of the People with Handicap  

The Interparty Parliamentary Group for the Rights of the People with Handicap is not a classic body of the Assembly, such as the Assembly Committees, Parliamentary councils or others, but it is a parliamentary lobby group that aims to work on improvement of the conditions of our co – citizens with handicap, so that they can feel equal to the rest of the citizens.

It truly represents a pleasure to attend today the opening of this International scientific conference with topic "The Balkans between east and west: Old and/or new security challenges", organized by the Institute for security, defense and peace of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje and the Faculty of security studies of the University of Belgrade.

ADDRESS OF THE PRESIDENT XHAFERI ON THE OCCASION OF 16TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE OHRID FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT  

Today, we mark 16 years since the ratification of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, which ended the inner conflict in the Republic of Macedonia. This significant document of peace in our state and of reconciliation between our citizens was drafted and ratified with a political will and was facilitated by our international friends.

Today, we are here in Meckin Kamen, to pay respect to the heroes of Ilinden, who sacrificed their lives and thus embedded themselves in the present we are all living in. Let us bow in front of the authors of the Krusevo Manifesto, a document written one hundred and fourteen years ago, but still actual even today. Allow me to quote one part of it:

Address by the President Xhaferi in front of the Committee for European Affairs 

The Euro-Atlantic integrations represent strategic determination of the Republic of Macedonia, determination about which all these years of independence, there is a total political consensus from all the political subjects' i.e. parties. Even more important is the fact that this strategic determination has a great support by the citizens.

This magnificent celebration of the folklore, which is the oldest of this kind in the region, successfully represents and affirms the cultural heritage and achievement of the countries and peoples from where the participants during these 56 years are coming.
