The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, at today's meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Dragan Jaćimović expressed his pleasure at the cooperation accomplished up until now with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished the new Ambassador a successful tenure and continuation of the cooperation with the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Allow me to express how pleased I am today, as we celebrate the 111th Anniversary of the Bitola Congress and the unification of the Albanian alphabet, to greet you as President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on behalf of my fellow Members of Parliament to seize this opportunity to congratulate you on the most important day in the history of Albanians’ political and cultural development, as the decisions of this congress represent one of the pillars that helped accelerate Albanian culture and education taking it to a higher level.

Allow me to express how joyful I am to be here, with you on this beautiful day - World Children's Day, and greet you on behalf of the Members of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on my own behalf. To say that although the Universal Declaration and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child establishes 20 November as the Universal Children's Day, it does not mean that the remaining 364 days we should not celebrate it; advocate, protect your rights and enable your growth and progress.

You, the children, must not be victims of violence of any kind, victims of forced labor, and witnesses of war or worse, participants in military conflicts. The world is your home, our legacy for you, walk boldly and safely, be the harbinger of the bright future for all!

MEETING OF THE PARLIAMENT SUPPORT PROGRAMME ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Today, in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, the First Working Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Parliament Support Programme was held, which aside from President Talat Xhaferi, was also attended by the Vice President Goran Misovski, Secretary General Cvetanka Ivanova, H.E. Sybille Suter Tejada, Ambassador of Switzerland to North Macedonia; H.E. Kristin Forsgren Bengtsson, Ambassador of Sweden to North Macedonia; Dr. Christoph Lanz, former Secretary General of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland; Mr. Alexander Fuzeresi, Head of the Parliamentary technical cooperation of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland; Mr. Antero Habicht, Deputy Secretary General of the Estonian Riigikogu and representatives of the NDI team led by director Chris Henshaw.

PRESIDENT XHAFERI MEETS THE FORMER SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE FEDERAL ASSEMBLY OF SWITZERLAND, DR. CHRISTOPH LANZ

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the former Secretary General of the Swiss Federal Assembly and SDC's chief technical consultant for the Parliament Support Programme, Dr. Christoph Lanz. The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Cvetanka Ivanova, the Swiss Ambassador Sybille Suter Tejada, and Robert Scott Heaslet, representative of NDI.

Not much time has passed since the last time I was here, at the Universal Peace Federation Summit, where I had the honour to speak on behalf of the Members of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on my own behalf, on the topic "Peace, Security and Human Development in Southeast Europe", which considerably relates to the topic of today's Conference, "Religion as an Instrument of Peace".
