MEETING OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH MR. DENIS ZVIZDIC, CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF BIH 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi regarded today's meeting with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Denis Zvizdic as a continuation of the good and friendly cooperation between the two countries and welcomed today's signing of the Agreements between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a prerequisite for a stronger and more comprehensive cooperation in many areas.

Session on the Occasion of 75 Years since the Deportation of the Jews from the Republic of Macedonia to the Death Camp Treblinka  

The Session of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia was in the framework of the activities marking the 75 Years since the deportation. The attendees sent a clear message that the Holocaust or similar genocide must never be repeated.

ADDRESS OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI AT THE SECOND MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON POLITICAL SYSTEM AND INTER-ETHNIC RELATIONS AND THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE BODIES AND INSTITUTIONS WHICH SUBMIT ANNUAL REPORTS TO THE ASSEMBLY 

Maybe it may sound unusual that at the very beginning of today's meeting of the Committee on Political System and Inter-Ethnic Relations, I will ask all of us the question, or if you prefer, the dilemma - is the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia moving in a direction that ensures full realization of the principles of contemporary parliamentarism and parliamentary democracy? Of course, the dilemma, or the question, concerns primarily the exercise of the oversight role of the Assembly over the executive branch.

Address of the President Xhaferi on the Occasion of 75 Years since the Holocaust of the Macedonian Jews – Deportation of 7144 Macedonian Jews to the Death Camp Treblinka  

One of the darkest period of the last century, and I would say in of the human civilization, is the Holocaust, when in the Nazis’ Camps over 6 million men, women, children and elders were killed in a most brutal manner only because they were Jews.

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi and the Secretary General of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Cvetanka Ivanova, held a reception on the occasion of the International Women’s day – 8th March for the Women MPs and Staff of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

Address of the President Xhaferi Marking the 15 Anniversary since the Establishment of the Women Parliamentarians’’ Club – Increased Political Participation of Women  

Today, 15 years ago, in the eve of the International Women’s Day, the Women Parliamentarians’ Club was established in the framework of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, as an informal group, comprised of all Women MPs’, regardless of their political background. Let us not forget that we still live in the so – called men’s world, and the Macedonian society still faces many prejudice and stereotypes when referring to the gender equality, place and role of women in the society.

Meeting of President Xhaferi with Mr. Miroslav Jenca, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with Mr. Miroslav Jenca, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ambassador Louisa Vinton.
