Allow me, on behalf of my fellow MPs in the legislature, as well as personally, to express my deep condolences upon the departure of our former colleague MP and President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ljubisa Georgievski. I call upon my fellow Members of Parliament,  and everyone else present today, to pay our respects with a moment of silence. 

May his memory be eternal

Address by President Xhaferi at the 64th NATO Parliamentary Assembly 

At the beginning of my address I would like to compliment the support provided by the Preisdent of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Mrs. Rasa Jukneviciene to the Republic of Macedonia on our path towards the NATO Alliance and on the NATO engagement through the sent invitation for membership of the Republic of Macedonia in NATO a few months ago. I am particularly pleased that in her work programme, among other things, the policy of partnership and open doors is listed as a priority, namely, the  membership of the states of Western Balkans, Ukraine and Georgia in NATO. With your permission, I will make a small restrospective on our presence in the NATO Alliance.

Allow me at the beginning to emphasize my satisfaction that I participate in the promotion of this study "Impact Assessment of the Regulation on the Use of Languages in Macedonia" as the President of the Assembly, a study which I believe will assist the further implementation of the Law on Language Use in the Republic of Macedonia.

Address by President Xhaferi at the opening of the Room of Women's Parliamentary Club 

I am pleased to be here today among you in this solemn act of the realization of my promise on the occasion of the International Women's Day and the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the operation of the Women's Parliamentary Club when I stated that I will follow the example of the Swedish Parliament, a country with the highest percentage of representation of women in the politics and public life, and as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia I will begin with the realization of the project for storage and promotion of the contribution of women MPs and bearers of positions in the Assembly and working bodies in the Assembly.

On the last day of the campaign of the Referendum to be held on Sunday, 30 September 2018, on my personal behalf as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, on the behalf of the Coordinative Body and the 120 MPs in the Assembly who campaigned for and against the support of the referendum question, to invite the citizens to use their constitutionally guaranteed right and to come out and participate in making the most important decision for the future of our country.

Address of the President Xhaferi at the Young Political Leaders Conference on topic "Impetus of political dialogue and consensus" 

I consider that the political dialogue and reaching a consensus are at the top of the values and standards which define the democratic environment and political culture of a society. At the same time, the extent to which these values and standards are applied is the basic measure of how democratic a government rules. The proper place or arena for political dialogue and reaching consensus is the Assembly itself.
