Meeting of the president Xhaferi and the European Commissioner Hahn  

At the beginning of the Meeting the President Xhaferi informed the European Commissioner on the current and upcoming activities in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia connected with the reform processes necessary for receiving a positive recommendation for opening accession negotiations with the European Union.

Meeting of the President of Xhaferi and Mr. Thomas Greminger, Secretary General of OSCE  

At the Meeting, the President Xhaferi expressed appreciation for the meeting and hope that the fruitful cooperation with OSCE will continue in the future. The President expressed pleasure from the consensual adoption of the decision electing officials to the four highest positions of the Organization at the Ministerial Council held in July this year.

Address of the President Xhaferi at the Meeting of IPPG “Family for Every Child” 

When I have read the program for today’s meeting, especially the topic “Family for Every Child”, I recalled the novel of Charles Dickens “Oliver Twist” , whose narration starts with the depiction of the living conditions of children without parents in an orphanage and their severe abuse. I believe that many of you have read the novel or watched a filmed adaptation of this novel.

Address of the President Xhaferi at the Regional Conference of the Network of Parliamentary Committees on Economy, Finances and European Integration of Western Balkan 

Upon a rule, November and December are the months when the vigorous debates in the Parliaments on the budget for the upcoming year take place. Hence, I believe that this is the right timing for today’s’ Conference on “Strengthening Legislative Scrutiny in Western Balkan Parliaments”. I would like, at the very beginning, to express pleasure that the Network of Parliamentary Committees on Economy, Finances and European Integration of Western Balkan, supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the World Bank organizes this conference, from which I believe we shall all take positive findings and experiences.

MEETING OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH THE OSCE REPRESENTATIVE ON FREEDOM OF THE MEDIA, MR. HARLEM DESIR

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, today had a meeting with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Mr. Harlem Desir. President Xhaferi expressed his satisfaction from meeting again with Mr. Desir, this time in the capacity of  OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

Meeting of the President Xhaferi and Mr. Emilio Lorenzo Serra, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Macedonia  

The President Xhaferi welcomed the Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia and wished him successful and fruitful work, expressing pleasure from the fact that the political relations with the Kingdom of Spain are friendly and have no open issues.

Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the State Secretary of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Ivan Korchok

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Xhaferi underlined the pleasure from the meeting with a representative of a state whit which the Republic of Macedonia has excellent and years long dynamic bilateral relations on many levels. On parliamentary level, the Parliament of the Republic of Slovakia shared the experience for establishing the Parliamentary Institute in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The President Xhaferi underlined that the establishment of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliaments of the Latin America and the Caribbean confirms our interest for establishing, cherishing and deepening the parliamentary diplomacy with the states of this region.

Meeting of the President Xhaferi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Mr. Srdjan Darmanovic  

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Mr. Srdjan Darmanovic in the framework of his one – day work visit to the Republic of Macedonia. The Members of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro: Ms. Liljana Kuzmanovska, Chair; Mr. Blagojche Trpeski, Ms. Mirsada Emini Asani and Mr. Afrim Gashi, Members attended the Meeting.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the MEP, Mr. Ivo Vajgl. Welcoming Mr. Vajgl to the Republic of Macedonia, the President Xhaferi informed him on the current affairs in the politics as well as the planned activities in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia by the end of this calendar year.
