Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi meets Ms. Louisa Vinton, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative

Ms. Vinton congratulated Mr. Talat Xhaferi on being elected President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and voiced expectation that the Assembly with swiftly reemerge as the center of political developments in the country.

Parliament Speaker Xhaferi meets H.E. Chinese Ambassador Ms. Yin Lixien

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhafer held an official meeting today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Yin Lixien. At the start of the meeting the Ambassador congratulated him on being elected President of the Assembly and presented official congratulations from the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Mr. Zhang Dejiang.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi held a meeting today organized by the UK Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia with a delegation of high-ranking officers and civilians from the Royal College of Defence Studies from London led by Mr. Nicholas Evans.

PARLIAMENT SPEAKER XHAFERI MEETS CANADA’S AMBASSADOR PINNINGTON

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, held an official meeting today with Canada’s Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Philip Phinnington, who emphasized that Canada was among the first countries to congratulate Mr. Talat Xhaferi on being elected President of the Assembly, and which clearly and visibly expressed its support for the democratic changes in the country during the transition of power.

President of the Assembly, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met with Swedish Ambassador Mr. Mats Steffanson

The president of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met today in an official meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Mats Steffanson. He congratulated him on being elected President of the Assembly and voiced sincere expectation that the political and legislative process in the country will soon be back on track.

Working meeting between the President of the Assembly, Mr. Talat Xhaferi and Ambassadors of EU member states

At the beginning of the meeting, the Parliamentary Speaker Talat Xhaferi voiced his gratitude for the support offered separately by the EU institutions and member states in terms of him being elected President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. He underlined that it is his personal determination to be a Parliament Speaker for all citizens and all MPs and to respect the Constitution and the Rules of Procedures of the Assembly.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY, MR. TALAT XHAFERI AT CONFERENCE ON: PARTICIPATION OF CITIZENS TOWARDS RESPONSIBLE AND TRANSPARENT ASSEMBLY 

First of all, I would like to express my great pleasure that my first public appearance is before the representatives of the NGO sector and my even greater satisfaction with the topics about to be debated i.e. the role and functioning of the Assembly as a highest level body which also adopts laws. In this context the debates will include the transparency and responsibility of the Assembly, the work done by the committees and the mechanisms for participation of stakeholders.
