VIOLENCE IS A TOPIC THAT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE POLITICAL, PARTY, EDUCATIONAL, INTELLECTUAL OR RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION, IT CONCERNS EVERYONE 

The Committee on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men of the Assembly, today had a public hearing on the topic: Draft-Law on Prevention and Protection from Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The public discussion was organized upon the initiative of the Association for Gender Equality ONE CAN.

FAREWELL MEETING OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH THE AMBASSADOR DIMITRIS YANNAKAKIS 

In today’s meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Dimitris Yannakakis, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation with the Ambassador and expressed confidence that in the upcoming period, the cooperation with the new Ambassador of the Republic of Greece will also continue at the highest level, as to date.

CONSTITUENT MEETING OF THE INTER-PARTY PARLIAMENTARY GROUP FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE RIGHTS OF LGBTI PEOPLE 

On the occasion of the International Day of Human rights, 10 December, the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia in cooperation with the National Network Against Homophobia and Transphobia held the constituent meeting of the Inter-Party Parliamentary Group for Improvement of the Rights of LGBTI People.

THE ASSEMBLY REVIEWED THE DRAFT-LAW ON THE CENSUS  

Mr. Ademi, underlined that is being discussed a very important law which will enable the census of the population, households and dwellings in the Republic of North Macedonia in the period of 1-21 April 2021, considering that the last census in the country was conducted in the year 2002, and the census in the year 2011 was not realized. He underlined, that regarding the need to conduct the census, as a member state of the UN we are obliged to conduct the Census which will be realized in accordance with the adopted International recommendations for censuses of the population and households, drafted by the Economic Commission for Europe of the UN and Eurostat.

Allow me, on behalf of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, and my own behalf and on behalf of the MPs of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to congratulate this event which marks the International Day of the Fight Against Corruption, which unfortunately seems to have always existed and constantly ravages the societies, undermines the foundation and the healthy operation of institutions, followed by the state apparatus of a country.
