Meeting of the President Veljanoski and the Newly Appointed Italian Ambassador, H.E. Carlo Romeo

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski welcomed the Newly Appointed Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Carlo Romeo and wished him successful mandate. 

The Italian Ambassador expressed appreciation for the meeting and underlined that he is honoured to represent his state to Macedonia, hoping for success in the future cooperation. 

The interlocutors agreed that Macedonia and Italy share important connections. The Meeting referred to the current political affairs in Macedonia, the challenges Macedonia is faced with, as well as its future aspirations. Mr. Romeo underlined that his state is great supporter for Macedonia on its path to the Euro - Atlantic integration. 

The President Veljanoski informed the Ambassador on this year’s two visits of Rome on the occasion of the celebration of the Days of Ss. Cyril and Methodius.

The interlocutors also discussed the challenges of the migrant crisis as well as the bilateral cooperation in many areas.
